We hope everyone received a copy of our Christmas gift book: Behold, Believe, Become: Meeting the Hidden Christ in Things We See, Say, and Do at Mass by Timothy P. O’Malley. Extra copies are available at the church entrances and in the parish office to share with friends and family.
In the book, O’Malley provides a unique exploration of the material “stuff” of the Mass that we encounter from the time we enter the church until the time we depart at the end. O’Malley helps us see how each element tells us something about who Christ is and who we are to become as Christian people.
A meaningful way to unpack the book is through discussing it with others. Here are our current book discussion group opportunities, and others may also come forth. (Let us know if you’d like to start a group!) Registration is not required unless specified below.
- Sundays, Jan. 26–Feb. 23, at 9:15am in the Church Hall
- Sundays, Feb. 16–Mar. 16, at 4:00pm in the Landmark Commons Event Center (1400 Maxhelen Blvd, Waterloo, IA 50701)
