The function of parish committees is to assist the pastoral Council and staff with the work of the Parish within a specific area. A committee is an ongoing, long-term group. Sub-committee may be formed to allow for division of labor or responsibilities within a specific area. Task forces may be created from time to time with a specific, time-limited charge. When the task is accomplished, the group is disbanded.

Parish Community Life Committee: The Parish Community Life Committee encompasses all the Programs and activities of a parish that strengthens Christian Community. The committee fosters a sense of belonging among the members of the parish. Its scope of activity would include all those parish events which foster the community life of the parish. Another purpose of this committee is to strengthen family life within the parish community.
Pastoral Council (elected representation) This elected body offers counsel to and collaborates with the pastor to provide the long-range planning which will guide the parish toward its future.
Social Outreach Committee: As a parish community, we are called to “serve those in need and promote respect for all persons”* as we live out our parish mission to be an evangelizing community by faith, with love, in hope.
*Ref: St. Edward Parish Pastoral Council guidelines The Social Outreach Committee engages parishioners in various ministries (see "About Us" tab) and provides recommendations to the Pastoral Council for distributing the parish tithing allocation to support domestic and international programs that align with this goal.
Stewardship Committee The purpose of the Stewardship Committee is to encourage parishioners to exercise stewardship as an expression of gratitude to God and as a way of life for disciples of Christ.
Finance Council The finance council has as its primary purpose to support the parish participation in the fourfold mission of Jesus Christ to celebrate faith, proclaim the Gospel, build community, and serve the needy. The finance council serves as an advisory body to the pastor and the pastoral council regarding the administration and stewardship of human resources, parish facilities, and parish finances, including the annual budget and long-range financial development. The finance council is a consultative body that enables the parish to live its mission by prudent and lawful stewardship of all resources. The finance council has as its responsibility the obligation of planning, providing for, and supervising the financial affairs and the physical properties of the parish. It is concerned with the budget, stewardship, church support, and the effective utilization and maintenance of the parish plant. This council provides the necessary administrative and financial skills needed to sustain the mission and ongoing development of the parish community.
