St. Edward Church provides multiple options for small to large groups to gather. A Facility Usage Application is the first step to requesting the use of space on the St. Edward Church campus and should be submitted a minimum of 25 days prior to the desired gathering date. See online application below. This information allows us to ensure that the space you've requested is available and will meet your needs as you described on the application. You will receive follow up communication requesting additional information if necessary as we move forward with the planning process.
The following provides general information about the process:
A group that is not sponsored by St. Edward Parish or the Archdiocese of Dubuque must provide the following prior to final approval of facility usage:
a completed Archdiocese of Dubuque Facility Usage/Indemnity Agreement, signed by an “official agent” of the sponsoring organization (an individual with authority to enter into a legally binding agreement on behalf of the sponsoring organization).
a certificate of insurance for the sponsoring organization documenting general liability coverage in accordance with the Indemnity Agreement mentioned above naming both St. Edward Church and the Archdiocese of Dubuque as an additional insured. It is not adequate to obtain a certificate of insurance, which names the parish as a “certificate holder.”
A parishioner that wishes to use the facility for a family gathering must submit this “application” at least 25 days in advance of the gathering in order for the Archdiocese of Dubuque to review and approve the gathering for a one-day insurance policy.
The insurance requirement is waived for gatherings following a sacrament such as a Baptism.
No smoking or alcoholic beverages are allowed on parish property.
Spaces should be returned to the original configuration. All tables should be cleaned with soap and water, and the floors should be swept and mopped if needed.
An on-site tour/orientation must be scheduled during Parish Center office hours at least one week prior to the event.
Parking guidance will be provided during the on-site tour/orientation.
Orientation will also include a review of access to the building, including any discussion about checking out or returning fobs/keys.
